The state health department suspended Centennial-based Health Now Medical from the COVID-19 vaccination program and said a small number of patients received doses that may not be effective.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment said Health Now Medical wasn’t properly storing all doses of the vaccine, may have given it to some people who weren’t eligible and had holes in its documentation.

Unlike the milk in your refrigerator, a vaccine won’t harm you if it’s stored at an improper temperature. It may lose effectiveness, however, leaving people with a false sense of protection.

The department estimated as many as 68 people may have gotten an invalid dose and will need to be revaccinated. Health Now Medical will reach out to those people once the health department and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention determine what guidance to offer those patients.

If you were vaccinated at the clinic and have questions, email or call 877-268-2926.
